Like many mom's, I put on a lot of weight during my pregnancies... more than I should have. I used being pregnant as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted, and as much as I wanted. I didn't worry too much about it while I was pregnant but as the months went by after delivery, and the weight remained, I realized that I had to do something!
Eight months after my 2nd baby, I weighed 148lbs (I was 5 foot 1 inch tall). It was summer time; Swimsuit season. We went on a camping trip with our church group and I felt utterly embarrassed by my size. When we got back from our trip and I saw pictures of myself I was disgusted. That's when I decided to change!
My weight today is 115lbs. Over the past year, I have lost about 33lbs, (I lost most of it in the first 6 months). It's been a journey full of hard work and self-denial. But it has also been extremely rewarding!
Now that I have arrived at a healthy weight, I find it just as challenging of a task to maintain my it. I've adopted new healthy habits and I need to keep them! I've found that for me personally, I need to have constant goals to be working towards to keep me motivated. I need a REASON to do what I'm doing! While I'm in the best shape of my life, I know that I can always get in even better shape!
I'm starting this blog for many reasons. My main reason, and a rather selfish one I might add, is to keep myself motivated. The other is to be a motivation and encouragement to others!
